The Executive Committee will recommend sites for the winter and summer meetings two years in advance. The Active members will approve Executive Committee site recommendations at the business meeting of the winter meeting. Nominations of potential winter and summer meeting locations will also be accepted from the membership during the business meeting. Special interim meetings can only be called by the President in conjunction with the Executive Committee.

The RCAS planning meeting will be held September 12 - September 15, 2010 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Business
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Sunspree 3900 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach from September 11-15 at $89/night. To get this rate you must call before August 12. Schedule
The meeting begins September 12 with carpooling from the hotel to the Hampton Roads AREC (allow 30 min). Following the 3 p.m. business meeting, we will tour the gardens at the AREC and conclude with a dinner at the AREC.
Monday we tour western Tidewater which means both the north and south sides of the James River. Stops include our Seafood AREC in Hampton, Chippokes Farm (a historical plantation and part of a state park of the same name), and the Darden family farm that grows a number of crops as well as owns a country store and cures hams in the traditional manner. If time permits, we will have another historical stop and dinner prior to returning to Virginia Beach.
Tuesday we will have an all day tour of the Eastern Shore, where we will visit a number of agriculture (including aquaculture) operations, returning to Virginia Beach after dinner.
Wednesday we will have a boat trip on a vessel owned by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and tour smaller growing operations that supply the local farmers markets. If time permits, we will visit Nauticus, a museum focusing on the maritime industry and includes the USS Wisconsin.
